{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #39

We are in the home stretch! {BYSHC} has filled my card bin to the point of overflowing!

November started with Sketch 39 (it's at the very bottom!)

This sketch was a little bit of a challenge for me, but I did the best that I could figure out! LOL It's more about making the card, than making sure the sketch measurements are exact! ;)

This double sided piece of patterned cardstock was just sitting there and happened to be approximately the right size for an A2 card! I had previously cut a "template" from another piece of patterned paper that I couldn't find a center piece that looked good, so it became the template! LOL But my cuts were crooked and not completely straight, so I cut two strips of red to go over the seams! Worked perfectly! The die and holly are both from Unity Stamp Co.  The holly are from the 2022 Advent Calendar (2023 is about to start!) and the die is called Greetings of the Season.

Love it now that it's finished! LOL

Don't let the exact measurements scare you! It's two cuts or two strips of paper over the top! Easy peasy!

Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Sneaking in another!

This may be my last post for the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! I have been neglecting my housework all week! LOL While I agree that housework is husband doesn't agree! ;)

These two cards came about after I saw a video posted with this amazing technique using this beautiful set! I have had it a while, but *gasp* never inked it up! So this was the perfect opportunity!

I added the second two pictures to hopefully show the gold ink splatters that just shimmer!

Started with a full sheet of white cardstock (8 1/2" x 11"). I have since realized that I should have used WATERCOLOR PAPER! Oh well, next time! I then grabbed the Painted Poinsettias stamp set from Unity Stamp Co. and a sheet of acetate. I smooshed some distress oxide inks in both lumberjack plaid and crackling campfire onto the sheet and spritzed with some water. I added the largest poinsettia leaves to an acrylic block and inked it up with the watered down distress oxide mixture and stamped it randomly all over the sheet. Next I took the smaller poinsettia leaves and inked the lumberjack plaid ink onto the stamp directly and stamped it over the watered down inked images. Then the yellow centers were next. The green dots were stamped first on scrap and then onto the panel with distress oxide in lucky clover. Cut the sheet up into 4 and used the scallops and rectangle nesting dies from Unity to make them prettier! As I said above I smooshed more of the lumberjack plaid, some forest moss and some champagne pigment ink onto the acrylic block and added water to add more splatters! The "merry christmas" die cut is also from Unity and while I was looking up all these items to link here....I see that the poinsettias stamps and phrase die set are being offered in a bundle! Cut the background with vellum and the letters with gold sticker paper (game changer)! Unity makes it almost too easy to create such beautiful cards!

{BYSHC} Sketch 38 and Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party

While there is still time to get a card ready for Sketch 38 at {BYSHC}, today is the last day to get your cards posted for the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party!

Today's card features a cute lightbulb stamp from the Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month from September 2015 called Our Hearts to Yours!

I stamped these onto watercolor paper using VersaFine Clair in nocturne. I then colored them with my Tombow ABT Dual Brush Markers. I cut each one to the measurements on the sketch and added a black background before putting them onto the red piece. The lightbulb background paper is from Echo Park Santa Claus Lane. The sentiment is also from Unity Stamp Co. cheerful prancing and cut using a stitched banner die and mounted with foam tape. The button and twine finish off the sketch!

As I said today is the last day of the Linky Party, but the sketch lasts until the 31st!!

Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Blessed Winter

I didn't plan on there being many more entries for the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party but yet here I am.....posting another card! ;)

Angela at Unity Stamp Co. has been posting a few card tutorial videos! They are currently posted on the Unity Stamp Co. home page! Since it was going to be quick and easy....I thought I'd give it a try! She makes it look so easy! It took me longer than it did her! LOL

I used a set called Winter Blessings b y Graciellie Designs & Unity. I also used some kraft cardstock I purchased from Unity along with gina k. designs white pigment ink and white embossing powder.  Next I took some Distress Ink in Walnut Stain and stamped a few more pine sprigs. I then stamped the sentiment from the same kit with Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo and die cut it using the scallops and squares nesting dies. My sentiment was too large for the smallest and my paper was to small for the next size I made my own shape! I splattered some watered down white acrylic paint and some yasutomo shimmer watercolor.  I added some white bakers twine and white enamel dots from gina marie designs and popped the sentiment up with foam tape.

While it took me a little longer than it did Angela, I do love how this looks!!!

Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party - fa-la-la-la llama!

Still working on the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party!

Today's card features a sweet llama from Newton's Nook Designs! If you've visited my blog before, you've seen this cutie a lot! I unfortunately only have this one NND stamp set, but hoping to get some more soon!!

I created this after I saw a card that Crystal Minkler posted! I loved the layout and design! Started with a white card base. The red polkadot paper is from Echo Park Santa Claus Lane. Die cut it with the largest rectangle from the scallops and rectangle nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. then tore the bottom off! Ink blended over all sides with distress oxide in vintage photo. Stamped and then die cut the llama and a few packages. Colored with Tombow ABT dual brush markers. The vellum circle was cut using the scallops and circles nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co.  I stamped the sentiment directly to the card front then added all the layers! I did add some shimmery ribbon and glittery enamel dots! So cute!!!

Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Peace & Joy

We are on day 6 of the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! Getting closer to the end!

Today is Wednesday and at Unity Show & Tell (Facebook group) that means its Unity Membership Makes day!

What you can't tell from this picture is the entire thing SPARKLES! I started with a piece of watercolor paper. I then ink blended over it using Distress Inks in evergreen bough and peacock feathers, then finished with Distress Oxides in salvaged patina, hickory smoke. Once done I sprayed some water onto an acrylic sheet. I had plans to just splatter water over it, but then decided to just smoosh the water onto the ink and see what happened! I think it looks so cool!! I splattered some watered down white acrylic paint onto that to mimic snowfall. I then stamped the background stamp, which is from the Unity Stamp Co. December 2022 Kit of the Month called {a new chapter} on to the panel using Versafine Clair in Nocturne. This is where it went in a different direction than I had planned.....I had only wanted to emboss the stars with the glitter embossing powder, but 1) I failed to "anti-static" the panel and 2) the black ink was still wet! Once the glitter embossing powder was on more places than I had intended....I just sprinkled it all over! After the embossing powder was melted I die cut the panel with the largest scalloped rectangle from the scallops and rectangle nesting die set from Unity Stamp Co. The sentiment, which was also embossed with glitter is also from a Unity kit called ...cherished holly. While it's not a subscription kit it's still a specialized kit, November 2021 Unity Sentiment Kit. Mounted the die cut panel onto a black background and it's finished! While I was thinking that it was too simple, it pretty much speaks for itself! The video of the sparkle is amazing!! :)

Thanks for visiting! Be sure to leave me some love! :)
