Step-By-Step Wednesday - Hello Spring!!

Hello there!  This installment of the Step-by-Step Wednesday is to show how to create a set of 4 cards using one sheet of 6x6 paper!

The Challenge this week at Cuttin' and Stampin' is to Welcome Spring and what better way than to get your hands dirty and get outside in the garden!  I've created 4 cards to be included in a silent auction gardening basket at a local school's Spring Fling.  The paper and embellishment collection I'm using is called Front Porch and brought to you by Pebbles.  The stamps are from Paper Smooches and called Green Thumb.  All of these fabulous products can be found at Cuttin' and Stampin' Scrappy Supplies.

I did a quick search on Pinterest for a measurement chart and found this one at Poetic Artistry.

The example uses one sheet of double sided paper, however, this paper is single sided so I'm using two sheets to get the same effect.  The sketch showing how to use the pieces for each card is also attached.

Now to get cutting!  I did not follow the order on the cutting template.  I went on my own and labeled each piece to be sure I had them all!

Then I started layering and embellishing!

Remember to check out Cuttin' and Stampin' Scrappy Supplies for all these great items!  Also don't forget to enter this weeks challenge to Welcome Spring!

Image is from StampinBella, patterned cardstock is MyMindsEye - Market.

MyFavorite Things - Color Palette Challenge #2

I have created this card as part of a set of cards to donate to my friends daughter's school.  I am using the MFT - Color Palette Challenge colors (blue raspberry, lemon drop and kraft).  What a terrific combination!  Image is StampinBella, all paper is scraps from my stash!

Enjoy!

Step-By-Step Wednesday -- 2/5/14 Sweethearts

Happy First Wednesday in February everyone!  Also, Happy First Step-By-Step Wednesday for me on the Cuttin' and Stampin' Challenges Design Team!  I'm super excited to have been selected!

This week's challenge is to create something for your Sweetheart(s).  I have 3 (my hubby, my handsome 10 year old son and my beautiful 6 year old daughter).  I have created one for this challenge, but need to get two more finished!  The paper and embellishments featured this week is Doodlebug Sweethearts.

Today I will show you step-by-step instruction on how to create the stamp-kissed background paper I used.  To start you need a solid stamp, any shape, with no design on it, a design stamp, some ink and stamp cleaner.

I chose a solid circle from Stampin Up Simply Circles, a frilly filigree stamp from Studio 112, some ink from Stampin Up ( Mauve Mist) and my handy dandy stamp cleaning pad.

you start by inking up the filigree stamp.  This will be the design that is actually stamped on your paper.

Then you press (or kiss) the stamped filigree design onto the solid stamp.  Be careful not to rock or slide it too much.....this will affect the design that's stamped.

This is what the inked image will look like on the solid stamp.

Then you press that solid stamp onto the paper.

I have done this randomly here or there and also all over to create an entire background. *one word of advice (from my personal experience) definitely clean and dry your solid stamp after each stamping.....if you try to re-ink it, it will be quite blurred! =D

I also used a sketch for my card design.  This one came from Operation Write Home.  This is an organization that collects and ships cards to our troops overseas.

Please stop by Cuttin' and Stampin' Scrappy Supplies for your scrappy needs!!  Give this stamp-kissing a try!  any solid stamp will work.

Thanks for checking us out!!!

Sing it LOUD!!

Welcome to February!  It's my birthday month (just saying)!!  For this week's challenge at Clear It Out Challenge Blog the theme is karaoke - creating a project that is inspired by a song.  The stash item is to use a brad (you know we all have plenty of those little buggers hanging around)!!

This week's sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.  They have so many cute images including this one:

It's called Bugaboo brat - Jesse Moon and I used my Tombow Art Markers and a bit of star dust stickles on the wings.  The paper I selected is Childish Things by Fancy Pants.  The star brads are, I believe, Making Memories and have been in my brad stash for-ever!

I also wanted to point out I used a sketch from My Favorite Things.   Their sketches are quite easy to follow!

Thanks for joining us at Clear It Out and get on over to Bugaboo Stamps and get crafty!!
