{BYSHC} Spring into Christmas 2025 Linky Party - Holly Jolly Christmas

Hello again! I am still creating Christmas cards for the {BYSHC} Spring into Christmas 2025 Linky Party

The amount of scraps I have is overwhelming at times! I try to use the Linky Parties to grab up all those scraps and make something amazing!

This card was created with a few scraps from an OLD paper pack (2015) from My Minds Eye called Cozy Christmas. I used {BYSHC} Sketch 56 for this one! I cut all the pieces and added them to a white card base using some Tombow Liquid Glue. The sentiment was stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne onto a coordinating sticker that came with the paper pack. The sentiment is from Jolly Ol' Santa from Unity. The enamel dots are from Echo Park.

Off to find more scraps that I can create something new with! :)

{BYSHC} Spring into Christmas 2025 Linky Party - Just for you

Hello again and welcome back! Have you checked out the list of sponsors yet?!? What are you waiting for?!? I'll like my first days post here, they are also listed on the {BYSHC} Blog!

The linky party is usually where I grab all the scraps and bits and pieces and put cards together where they wouldn't normally be!

For this one, the background (Christmas Joy Script from Angie Blom Digital Designs) I had printed a whole sheet of and only used one or two....so had two left. I die cut it with one of the scallops and rectangle nesting dies from Unity. The mug (also Angie Blom Digital Designs) I had already colored in an evening watching TV so it just needed to be die cut, used the scallop and banner nesting dies from Unity. I punched a couple holes in the top and tied on a red organza ribbon. Cute and simple and all "scraps"!

Doesn't have to be hard, just use your imagination! :)

~ May 2025 Friends of Unity Blog Hop ~ Bloom Where You Are Planted!

Welcome to May! Hard to believe that we've already made it this far! At the beginning of the year, I knew this year would fly by as my youngest daughter is graduating high school in just a few weeks. But I digress.....the theme this month is Bloom Where You Are Planted. Which also seems fitting for her leaving for college....to bloom where ever she is planted! Just bloom!!

Unity has so many floral stamps that I had a difficult decision deciding which ones to use! LOL This first one is a favorite background! Obsessed with Floral is a great all over floral that can be used just just about anywhere!

I started with a piece of white 110# cardstock to which I ink smooshed a bunch of colors until I got the result I wanted. I used dried marigold, spun sugar, worn lipstick, picked raspberry and festive berries (the ink smooshed panel is below). I stamped the large background stamp with versa fine clair nocturne ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I cut the panel with the scallops and rectangles nesting dies. I used the smallest scalloped rectangle to cut the center out and then popped it up with foam tape. I made a tag using the make a tag nesting die set and then cut it a tiny bit smaller to fit where I wanted it.

I then added some seam binding in the color coral from My Scrap Cabin, some white flowers with colored brads and some clear flat sequins. The sentiment is from the set called You Go Girl!

ink smooshed panel!

Next I chose a scrap background that I had created some time ago. It is basically the remains of some ink smooshing. You know when you still have ink left but can't waste it....yep, that's this!

The ink spot was only on the bottom left so that's where I stamped the flower from ...aging gorgeously. I colored in the petals and leaves with my KingArt Alcohol Markers. I then cut the panel with the largest scalloped rectangle die, added it to a kraft background, stamped the sentiment which came from the February 2025 Kit of the Month. I then added some coordinating enamel dots from Echo Park.

Lastly, I saw this idea on Pinterest and loved the single colored flower! Since I had already used the Obsessed with Floral background, I grabbed the Magnolia Background instead!

Started with white #110 cardstock from PaperTrey Ink and stamped the magnolia floral onto that with versafine Clair in Nocturne. Then I stamped the Just a Dash background. Cut everything to size and mounted it onto a black background panel. I colored the one flower with my KingArt alcohol markers and then added some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer in glitter gloss for some sparkle! Sentiment came from the December 2018 KOM {best friend till the end}. Stamped onto black cardstock with ink on 3 clear embossing ink and then some white gina k. designs embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and hopping with us this month! Be sure to check out the entire hop! We'd love to see your sweet comments!

{BYSHC} Spring into Christmas Linky Party - You Make Me Smile!

Hello and welcome to the {BYSHC} Spring into the Holidays 2025 Linky Party! We will be going all week long!

We will be hosting this amazing opportunity to get some Christmas cards made and added to the stash! There are prizes galore and fun to be had!!

My first card for the party is a cute santa mug from Angie Blog Digital Designs! The background was created with a bunch of scraps cut into 1/2" strips and glued to a white panel, after they were all set I die cut it using the scallops and rectangles nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co.  The papers are from all different manufacturers and paper packs. This is one of my favorite ways to use up scraps! I followed Sketch 20 from {BYSHC} (pictured below).

The santa mug was colored using KingArt Alcohol Markers.

All cards must be entered into the blog post. Anything goes as long as it's Christmas, Hanukkah, Yuletide, wintry, etc. The party will end of May 9th. After that the winners will be announced a few days later!

{BYSHC} Sketch 56 - Merry Christmas

Hello again and welcome back! {BYSHC} Sketch 56 is still going strong! Mid-month and still open and waiting for your submission! The sponsor this month is Jaded Blossom!

My card today features a sentiment cut from a photo Christmas card that we received! I found some paper that coordinated very well with the classic look of the sentiment. The paper manufacturer and name escapes me at the moment, but keep and eye on this and I may locate it! :)

I added some foam adhesive and some red burlap twine to spice it up!

~ April 2025 Friends of Unity Blog Hop ~ Use All Scraps!

Scraps you say?!? I am currently surrounded by bags and bags of scraps! I could do this prompt forever! The Friends of Unity April Blog Hop is all about those lovely pieces of paper that are "leftover" from other things! Grab all your leftover pieces and let's get started!!

To say that I'm literally surrounded by scraps is not an exaggeration! These three bins have bags of somewhat sorted scraps....this doesn't include what's on my desk and what's around me....it's not pretty! LOL My favorite way to use up scraps is to find a sketch that has lots of layers! Our fearless leader Crystal has a facebook page that is a monthly sketch challenge! Also the {BYSHC} is also a sketch challenge group....Christmas and Holidays! Anyway....back to my cards!

My first card uses some scraps I saved from a wedding invitation we received. I planned on using the elements from the invitation to create their wedding card! The embossed vellum sleeve, the blue ribbon tied around and the heart paper clip that was also attached!

I used A Day To Treasure for the image and sentiment. I kept the paper backing sheet from the stamp and used that to mask the ink blending. The blue paper I used behind the vellum was found in the scrap bags!

Next up was a handful of scraps from Jubilant Tapestry

I had some scraps that had giant rectangles and circles cut from the centers. FYI -- The mid-sized square (scallops and squares nesting dies) fits over the mid-sized circle (scallops and circles nesting dies)! I stamped A Mother's Nest onto cardstock, then die cut with one of the squares. I then had to *carefully* position the square over the hole in the cardstock so I could use what was left! I tore the bottom off of the floral, then added a piece of the polka dotted paper. The brown piece was literally just sitting right in front of me! The background is an embossed piece of cardstock that I ink blended over with whatever was left on the blending brush.

Colored the image with some KingArt Alcohol Markers and used the backing paper from the stamp again to use as a mask. The twine was just this little piece so I tied it into a bow and attached with liquid glue.

And last but not least is a sweet card for a friends daughter who just recently had surgery. Everything was a scrap....even the image! I had colored it and cut it smaller than I needed so it's been sitting waiting for the right project!

I chose a sketch from {BYSHC} past sketches....sketch 24. I positioned and cut the paper (from Jubilent Tapestry) according to the sketch. The twine was again a piece that was already cut. I love this little highland cow! He just makes me happy! I stamped the sentiment with ink on 3 embossing ink and sprinkled some gina k white embossing powder on to make it pop.

{BYSHC} Sketch 56 - Merry Happy Cheery & Bright

Hello there and welcome to April! {BYSHC} Sketch 56 runs through the end of April. The sponsor for this month's prizes is Jaded Blossom

The thing I think I like most about the {BYSHC} monthly sketches is their versatility! I can grab any handful of scraps, find some that coordinate together and just get to cutting and positioning!

This card features scraps from several different pads and manufacturers. The tag image is a digital image from PolkaDot Orchard.

The sketch for reference!
