Step-By-Step Wednesday - Green Team #14-25 -- Fourth of July

Week 25
June 24, 2014 to June 30, 2014
4th of July

Hello everyone.  Can you believe it's the last week of June?  Where did the time go?

Are you ready to celebrate the USA's birthday?  It's always a big day around our place. To help kick off the festivities Cuttin' and Stampin' is creating 4th of July cards/projects.

The Cuttin' and Stampin' design team is using Pebbles Americana paper collection and stamp set this week.

6x6 paper pad

Journal cards

Wood mount stamps

Chipboard pieces

For this weeks Step-by-step Wednesday project, I have created a patriotic tag.  Our family celebrates our Nations birthday each year with friends, fireworks and fun!  I will be using this tag on a scrapbook layout!

Here is my finished tag!  I LOVE it!!

Started with a 3 x 6 rectangle of one of the blue papers from the Americana collection.  Rounded some corners and then inked them all with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain.

I then grabbed the postmark stamp and a Stampin Up White ink pad.  I created the tag background.

The pocket was created by using Paper Smooches Denim & Daisies die set and stamps.  The red checkered paper is also from the Americana collection.

According to my 7 year old daughter "everything is better with sparkles!"  To which I completely agree!  So stickles it is!

The sticks are nothing more than a shish-ka-bob skewer from my kitchen!  You could cut it all nice and neat, but for my needs (and for lack of a cutting utensil handy), I just snapped them at an appropriate length!  Some glue dots and pop-up squares later and I have a pinwheel and flag!

This was super fun to create!  My daughter did have some opinion on the star in the background!  Brad, eyelet and ribbon are all from my stash.

Now it's your turn to create something special for the 4th of July and enter it in this weeks contest.   Add your link Here and have a link on your post that leads back to us.

Thanks for playing along.

Until next time!  Have fun creating!

Ice Cream, Ice Cream, we all scream for Ice Cream!

Happy Tuesday!!  It's Clear It Out Challenge time again!  This week's theme is a color challenge - use your favorite ice cream flavor as inspiration!  Stash item is anything goes!

My favorite ice cream flavor is a new one.........Breyers Waffle Cone Overload!  Vanilla ice cream, carmel ribbon, chocolate chips and chocolate covered waffle cone pieces......DELIGHTFUL!!

My image today comes from MelJen's Designs.  I made this sweet bookmark using my Tombow Art Markers, some crystal stickles, Tim Holtz cardstock (carmel) and some Basic Grey Granola as the backer.  Stash ribbons and charm to complete this cutie!

Step-By-Step Wednesday - Green Team 14-23 - Word Bubbles

I don't know if you have been taken over by this trend of word bubble or not, but the Cuttin' and Stampin' Design Team sure has.  Every which way we turn there's more and more great products using the bubbles.  So we decided we needed to make a challenge out of it.
This week we are using Basic Grey Capture paper collection and the Jillibean Soup Word Bubbles stamp set.  Both items are on sale in the Cuttin' and Stampin' Amazon store.

I absolutely loved working with both of these items!!  I created a birthday card based on a 2013 sketch from MFTStamps.  The sketch is below.  I love working with sketches, it gives me a jumping off point!

Here is my finished product!  It's one of my new favorites!  I see many more versions of this in my future!

It all started with the word bubble stamps, hello and smile.  I used some scrap kraft paper and my memento ink pad.

I then loaded it up with Glossy Accents!  Love this stuff!  Made my own epoxy stickers!

The only problem I have with this is my lack of patience!  I ended up touching them too soon and had to shake out some finger prints! These take a bit of time to dry! During my down time, I stamped a background pattern on a plain piece of cardstock.

My lines aren't that straight, but no one will ever guess it!

After my word bubbles were dry, I fussy cut them out and used some pop dots to place the on the card.

Again my only word of advice with Glossy Accents is be patient!  LET IT DRY!  I have a very bad habit of "checking" it to see if it's dry, then end up with a finger print!!  I usually have to walk away and forget about it for a while!  That's my only hope!

Here is the sketch I promised earlier!

Until next time.........Jenni =D

Tag ..... you're it!

Hello there crafty friends!  This week at Clear It Out Challenge it's all about the tag!  The theme this week is TAG you're it and the stash item is to use a tag somewhere on the project.

This week's card is brought to you by this week's sponsor.....StampArt Design by Kathryne.  The image is called "Full Bloom."  I used my Tombow Art Markers to color in the image.  The tan background is from scraps, the pink in the middle is washi tape.  The flower is from Prima, the brads are from Basic Grey.  The tag was punched with a Stampin Up punch and the sentiment is also from Stampin Up!  I think that I've "tagged" everyone that I needed!  LOL

I used a sketch from MFTStamps, they change the sketch weekly!

Visit all of my friends via the links provided and get taggin!  It's fun!!  Also don't forget to visit our sponsor for beautiful images!

Celebrating Super Dads!

This week at Clear It Out Challenge, we're celebrating dad!!  This week's theme is a Father's Day/Male/Metal.  The stash item is to use stars.

My image came from our awesome sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps.   Colored him with my Tombow Art Markers, used some leftover pieces of Authentique Genuine collection.

Added some metal stars as an accent from my stash.

Dad's are pretty super, let them know how you feel!  Until next time.....
