Goodbye March!

With the end of March comes the end of the BYSHC Sketch 31 Challenge! Stay tuned for Sketch 32, but in the meantime you can still enter a card into Sketch 31!!

I dug into my stash of Unity Stamp Co. paper scraps to come up with this one! Papers from Snowy Winter Greetings, Enrich the Soul, White Winter and Rustic Wood. "Let It Snow" is from Ornamental Greetings (WK 11/22). I die cut it with the die set that was in the kit.  Stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne, then with WOW! Embossing ink....sprinkled with some WOW! Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter and watched the magic happen! Popped it up with some foam tape, added a navy blue die cut below. Gina Marie Designs Glitter Enamel Dots to finish!

Love the sparkle!!

Unity Stamp Co. March Sketch Challenge - Card #2

As I mentioned in my previous post....I'm just now getting a chance to work on some cards for the Unity Stamp Co. March Sketch Challenge! I'm currently on a roll! I stamped this image three times hoping to get at least three cards done!

This little lovely was stamped onto watercolor paper with VersaFine Clair in Nocturne. Colored with Tombow ABT markers (flower: 925 and N00, leaves: 158, 192 and NOO, shadow N89). Papers are new to me purchased second hand are are by The Paper Studio Against the Grain and Metro Garden by KI.  I die cut all the panels with the scallops and rectangles nesting dies (which appear to be out of stock) from Unity, the twine is from May Arts.

I colored the flower first then had to find paper to match! Another Mother's day ready to go!

Unity Stamp Co. March Sketch Challenge - Card 1

March at Unity Stamp Co. has brought a sketch for their monthly challenge! Unfortunately it's taken me until almost the last day of the month to actually get a chance to create with it! One done and hopefully a few more before tomorrow evening arrives!

Today's card features the set Another Name for Love. Several years ago (6 years actually! I had to go back and look for the video and tutorial) I saw a quick video about using colored pencils and gamsol. Well at the time I had no idea what gamsol was so I saved the video for some future time that I knew a little bit more about it.  Well turns out it was a video by Gina K Designs who designed this stamp set! This was the flower that she used in her video (link here: https://youtu.be/_Rh4hmEpJhk). I used Tombow ABT Markers and a blender pen, but same technique basically! I love how this turned out! Now that I have found (and re-watched) the video, I want to make ALLLL the colors!! LOL

The rest of the story of this card is that I stamped the image on watercolor paper with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, then colored with Tombow ABT Markers (flower 606, 603 and N00, leaves 158, 192 and N00, then shaded with N89). The background paper is from Unity called Pink & Blue Watercolored. Ribbon is most likely from Michael's and the sequins are from the Autumn Wonder set by Spiegelmom Scraps.

Thanks for visiting and leave me some love to let me know you were here! :)

Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge #194

Hey there! I'm back with another card for the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Color Challenge #194! As I said in my previous post.....I currently only have one stamp set! LOL So here is another cute entry using the retiring set Llama Delivery and the matching die set! This time it's a birthday card!

As I have said before, I save a lot of sketches! This one is from Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch #9 (it's attached). The paper (My Mind's Eye Good Vibes) is some I just purchased second hand and I thought it went perfectly with the birthday theme AND the colors in the challenge! I stamped and die cut the llama and colored with Tombow ABT markers. I added some eyelash twine that's been in my stash forever! Glitter enamel dots and the sentiment are both from Unity Stamp Co

Inky Paws Challenge #194

Hello friends! I am entering a challenge at Newton's Nook Designs! It's the Inky Paws Challenge #194 (a color challenge)! As much as I love a good sketch challenge, color challenges are my second favorite! Trying to get the "exact" if not super close color match is half the fun!!

So this card was created using a modified version of the #192 Challenge Sketch and the colors on this challenge! I was running out of options in the freebie section so I broke down and purchased this super cute Llama! When I saw the colors I immediately saw "baby card." Of course they are absolutely 100% spring colors...but my mind went immediately to baby! So here is my take!  Papers are from Unity Stamp Co. (Rainbow Wishes), twine from american crafts. I colored this sweet llama with Tombow ABT markers. I added a circle of vellum because I just couldn't find the right pink and all the other patterned papers were just too much! I love how vellum is subtle enough to blend but just enough to show that there is a difference. Foam tape and some sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps (sweet water) to finish it off!

Attaching the colors from the challenge and the sketch I loosely followed!

Thanks for visiting! Would love it if you left me some love to know you were here! :)

{BYSHC} Sketch 31 Challenge

Hello Friends and welcome to March! New sketch at {BYSHC} to run through the end of the month! My card today is a new favorite!

This lovely card started with a white top fold card base. Next I added a black background. I measured my other pieces according to the sketch and got them ready to assemble. The focal image is a stamp from Unity Stamp Co. called All is Calm.  I stamped it on white cardstock with VersaFineClair in Nocturne. Next I die cut it with the smallest circle from Scallops & Circles (nesting die) set from Unity. I ink blended some faded jeans and scattered straw. I added some star sequins and yellow gems. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with gina k. designs fine detail white embossing powder and fussy cut to just have the sentiment. Mounted the circle with foam tape to add dimension.
