XOXO!

Another challenge completed for Inspired By Challenges. This week the inspiration is XOXO!

I recently purchased secondhand some Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits Alphanumeric dies and my thoughts immediately went to the die cuts in the picture!

My daughter is a competitive dancer....this weekend is our annual "competition showcase" where the team shows all of the competition dances for the first time. Our studio has a "big/little sister" program as well where they pair up an older girl with a younger or new-to-the-studio girl and they support and cheer each other throughout the season. I have created these little 3" x 3" cards to be given with the gifts that will be given throughout the season.

Started with some pink cardstock for the card bases. Next I dug through some scraps to find the different accent papers. Die cut with some dies from Unity Stamp Co. (hearts are apparently no longer available but the postage stamp dies are!) I die cut the letters from white cardstock. When cut the letters have a white border around the letters so I utilized all the pieces! For some I used the outline, for some I used the inside and for one I used both (after I ink blended over the white letters). Extra add ons are pink heart gems (Joanns), "xoxo" wood accent (in a Unity kit), Unity cut apart sentiment strips, and one stamped sentiment from Hero Arts.  Super simple, super cute and perfect to tuck into a gift or lunchbox or briefcase (for hubby)!!

More supplies listed below! I had fun with these! Thanks for the inspiration!

#AngieGirl Challenge at Unity {Show & Tell}

There is a new challenge at Unity Stamp Co. on their {Show & Tell} Facebook group! Sounds like this will be a thing all year! :) New Challenge every two weeks or so! The current challenge is to use an "AngieGirl." What is an Angie Girl you ask?!? It's a series of images, some girls but there are a few boys too, drawn by Angie Blom! I just did a quick search and OVER 1,000 popped up!

I've done three so far!

This lovely lady is from the December 2018 Kit of the Month (KOM), sentiment is from Love never leaves. The scalloped and Stitched nesting die and the banner die are both from Unity as well. Brads are from Michaels, inks are Distress Oxide (Hickory Smoke) and Gina K. Designs (Dusty Rose).

This lovely lady is named Bryna. She is colored with Tombow ABT Dual Brush Markers on Canson XL watercolor paper. The heart background paper is also from Unity as is the scalloped and stitched edge die.

This lovely lady is called Margaret! She is colored with AltENew Watercolors onto Canson XL watercolor paper. She was then die cut using the scalloped and stitched nesting die set from Unity. The shimmer on her skirt is from the pearlescent watercolor set by Yasutomo. Paper is from Hampton Art, Bright Geo paper pad and the sequins are from SpiegelMom Scraps set called Summer Hygge.

All the supplies I used will be pictured below....if a link was not provided up here, then a link will be provided below! :) Thanks for visiting!! :)

More Angie Blom Digital Designs and {BYSHC} Sketch #41!

This month {BYSHC} is celebrating the prize sponsorship for the month with Angie Blom Digital Designs!

I started with a white card base. To that I added a background piece of kraft paper, then a piece of red (cut to the measurements on the sketch). The patterned paper was cut a little larger than the measurements listed. The red and patterned paper are from a pad from 2018 from Fancy Pants Designs called Cottage Christmas. I printed the image, which is part of the Blessings Poinsettia set onto Neenah white cardstock, then cut it (and the black circle) using the scallops and circles nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. The image was colored using some alcohol markers made by Kingart. The sentiment is also included in the set, which I cut, and a red piece, using the scallops and banner nesting die set from Unity! I added some foam tape to the circles and the sentiment tag. Tied with some natural colored twine from Timeless Twine by BellaCreationz and added some red enamel dots from GinaMarie Designs.

Some images of the sketch and my crafty essentials!

to color the poinsettias I used some from this set and some from other sets.
Numbers used: 13, 22, 46, 166.

This set comes with four images of a mason jar filled with poinsettias and a couple sentiments.

{BYSHC} Sketch #41

We're well into the new year and I can say that I have started building up my stash of holiday cards for the end of the year so that I am not stressed and hurriedly creating at the last minute! If you do a little each month, the task in December isn't so daunting! :) {BYSHC} has a new sketch each month! This year the monthly prize will be a sponsored prize! Angie Blom Digital Designs is the sponsor for January! I absolutely love her digital images!

Today's card features the design called Gifting Girl. This set actually comes with 4 different images. I chose one and used the "Happy Holidays" from another! I started with a white A2 card base, to that I added a background panel (measured and cut per the measurements on the sketch). The rectangle panels were also cut per the measurements. These papers all came from a My Mind's Eye pad called Christmas Wish. I printed the image on regular cardstock and colored with various alcohol markers (purchased at Ross...two different brands). I cut her and the black mat using the scallops and circles nesting die set from Unity Stamp Co. The sequins are from SpiegelMom scraps from a set called Cranberry Bliss. The white bakers twine is literally that.....white bakers twine I purchased from my grocery store! LOL I saw it hanging on the end of an aisle and snatched it right up! :) I added some foam tape to the back of the circles and to the back of the sentiment to give a little dimension!

Be sure to follow along all year for amazing sketches and some amazing sponsored prizes! By the end of the year, you will have a lovely set of cards to choose from!

Links are above, but I've added photos of some products I've used.
