Unity GIU Week - Day 2

Hello there and welcome back to Day 2 of my GIU Week!

(link to day 1)

For my second day I've decided to try my hat at some ink smooshing!  I love the effect ink smooshing gives and how easy it is to create a background for any card!

For these backgrounds I used my Tombow Art Markers on an acrylic block spritzed with some water.  I grabbed a piece of watercolor paper (grabbed mine from the March 2021 Whit Kit) and just smooshed it on top of the wet ink!  Move it around the wet colors until you get the desired effect!

These are the "finished" product!  Used the smooshed backgrounds!

Say it Big Dies

All kinds of wonderful

These are the "before" backgrounds!  Before I transformed them with Unity goodness!

Give ink smooshing a try!  Would love to see what combinations you can come up with!  Any ink at should work.....some may not "flow" as well, but just keep trying and see what happens!  It's cool to see the finished product!

Don't forget to comment on my posts every day for a chance to win one of two $20 Unity Stamp Company gift credits!!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back tomorrow!

Unity GIU Week - Day 1

Hello friends and welcome to my GIU (Growing in Unity) week!  I am so excited to share my love of Unity Stamps with everyone!

My name is Jenni, I am a SAHMom to two teenagers!  My son will be starting his Senior year in HS and he's 17, my daughter will be starting her Freshman year in HS and she's 14.

I was introduced to Unity by a Scrapbooking friend at a crop too many years ago to remember and I was in love!

My first project is to showcase the Itty Bitty!  They are small in size but WOW do they have an impact!  Don't let the name fool you!  I will add some of my favorites below, but the first one I created specifically for you!

I ink blended the background.  I had originally planned on just leaving her uncolored, but I just couldn't!  I stamped her on another piece of cardstock and colored her using my Tombow Art Markers.  Then I cut her out.  Nothing fancy, no watercolor or distressing, just straight coloring!  Added some twine and Gina Marie Designs acrylic dots in black.  Some foam adhesive tape and here she is!  This sentiment is one of my favorites!

Not Be Perfect

Here are some of my other favorite Itty Bitty's!!

(made this bookmark for my book club!)

Take a look at the collection of Itty Bitty's! I promise you will not be disappointed!

Please be sure to comment on my posts all week to be in the running for one of two Unity Stamp Co. gift credits valued at $20 each!

Thanks for the love and see you back here tomorrow! ;)

{BYSH} Card makers!

Here's another card I made for the BYSHCardmakers FB group, based on their Sketch #11.  I am now a member of their design team and love making Christmas cards throughout the year to save my sanity in December!!  It's crazy enough during the holidays.....I don't need to worry that I don't have enough cards too!!

Background paper and sentiment are both from Unity Stamp Co.  "Ornaments" were printed from the internet, glittered and then added a few extra as layers.

Also entering this one into the Jingle Belles Rock challenge for layering!

Come join us and make December easy on yourself!!

{BYSH} Cardmakers DT!

I used background paper and stamps from Unity Stamp Co.  Based on the BYSHC Sketch #11

Come on over and join us!!

Also entering this into the Jingle Belles Rock current challenge of "bundling up!"  To create cards with some layers (at least three)!!

Take back December and get your holiday cards done early!!

Bring on the BLING!

Whew I've been busy!!  Haven't been able to get any cards done for a few Jingle Belles challenges now!!  I had to get at least one in on this one!!  I am a dance mom after all!!  I'm all about the BLING!!

NEVER throw anything away!!  After I had cleaned up my area, I found a whole pile of stuff that never made it to a card!!  Tons of stuff just all jumbled up together!

When you don't have time to create from scratch....sometimes these bits and pieces can come together quickly and create something beautiful!!
