{BYSHC} Christmas in July 2025 Linky Party - Merry Little Christmas

Another sketch and more scraps! I sometimes wish I wasn't so stingy with the cutting up of paper! LOL I reach for scraps before I cut into a new piece of paper! This paper is pretty old, Fancy Pants Designs Saint Nick (circa 2011). I followed the sketch measurements for sketch 24, placed the pieces all together then used the largest scallops and rectangles nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. to die cut the whole thing. The square in the center was also die cut using the scallops and squares nesting dies from Unity as well. The stocking image and the sentiment are from the Unity October 2024 Kit of the Month {sweet bliss of Christmas}. 

I added a little bit of red and white twine and foam adhesive for a little texture and dimension!

{BYSHC} Spring into Christmas 2025 Linky Party - Merry & Bright

 I am creating a stash of cards so that the December rush isn't quite as stressful! The Spring into Christmas {BYSHC} 2025 Linky Party is the best time to get some cards done!

Typically "scrap" cards start with the scraps, but this time the image was the scrap. I had colored this cute mug from Angie Blom Digital Designs set called Christmas Joy Mugs, die cut it and then set it aside.

With these bright colors, it was a challenge to find "Christmas" paper that would go! I did dig through my stash and found the Tulla & Norbert's Christmas Party from PhotoPlay! Perfect! The bright green and blue of the paper matched well enough with the colors of the mug that I went with it! It's not your typical Christmas colored card, but definitely festive! 

The main image was colored with my KingArt Alcohol Markers, and then die cut using the postage stamp nesting die set from Unity. I took a blending brush and vintage photo distress oxide and darkened up the edges a bit. Popped the image up with some foam adhesive and added some matching green enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs. I followed the {BYSHC} Sketch 24 for my design!

Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party - scraps again!

 One more scrap card for the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! Cannot guarantee that there won't be more, I still have a ton of scraps left to use up! :)

I used a larger scrap for this one. I was double sided which was perfect! The red square was also from the same paper kit (win ~ win)!  I think it was My Minds Eye I Believe (circa 2010) but I'm not 100% sure! I also used an older {BYSHC} Sketch (#24) which is included below!

Cut according to the measurements in the sketch. Used the scallops and squares nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. to create the layered squares. The tree is from the 2022 Unity Stamp Co Advent Calendar (psst...the 2023 calendar is about to be released)! The sentiment is also from Unity, a set called ...heart of Christmas. I've said it before and I'll say it again, use up those scraps! I have been starting to actually throw away smaller scraps....it's a freeing experience! :) IYKYK!!

Hurricane Ian and no power!

 Hello there! We are one week past Hurricane Ian's landfall on Florida and are slowly getting back to normal here in the Tampa area. Prayers for our neighbors to the south who took a direct hit and are devastated! 

Unfortunately we lost power for several days....of which included World Card Making Day (WCMD)! Unity Stamp Co. Show & Tell stretched it into an entire weekend and had several challenges posted. Well with no power in the crafty space, lighting was a problem! So outside I went. I stamped a bunch of things and took my markers out to the table and colored on the patio! One of the challenges was a color challenge for fall! I did what I could with what I had to work with and finished the card once power came back on.

Started with the color palette provided and found a fall-ish stamp (Unity Stamp Co. KOM September 2017 Flowers, Foliage & Fall). Stamped with VersaFine Clair in Nocturne, embossed with clear embossing powder....IN THE KITCHEN! That's where the generator power came in so that's where I embossed! LOL

I love the finished card! I ended up using a sketch from {BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #24 (it's attached).Glad I was able to create at least one card for WCMD! I did color a bunch of images and then fussy cut them out for more cards happening! Coloring and crafting is a stress reliever for me and this storm created a LOT of stress!!!

Three for today! {BYSHC} 2022 Christmas in July Linky Party!

 

As today is the last day to enter cards to be eligible for the fabulous prizes.....here is my 3rd card for today (8 for the entire week)! I have lots of things to do today....I'm clearly procrastinating! LOL

White cardbase, used paper from Fancy Pants Designs from 2011 called Saint Nick. Stamped image from Unity Stamp Co. (Holiday Joy Christmas Tree) an absolute FAVORITE of mine! One of the first stamps I purchased from Unity and it's been well loved! Watercolored with Tombow ABT markers and a waterbrush. Also used some vintage photo distress oxide on the edges. Added a ribbon and some sequins from my stash to finish it off.  I followed the current challenge sketch at {BYSHC} Sketch #24.
