{BYSHC} Sketch 65 - Happy Holidays

Hello and welcome to 2026! Join {BYSHC} in 2026 to fill your Christmas Card stash all year long! Each month is a new sketch and a new sponsored prize! Let's start the year strong! The sponsor for Sketch 65 is Not2Shabby!

My card today features a mix of papers. The background green is from Graphic 45. It's a NON Christmas pad called Ephemera Queen, and the stripes are from a Unity Stamp Co. pack called I'll be home for Christmas. The sentiment is also from Unity Stamp Co., set is called Simply Holiday. I added some red twine from MayArts Ribbon behind the sentiment and added some foam tape to pop it up a bit. The clear flat sequins add just a hint of sparkle.

Don't forget to create away all January and add your cards to the Sketch 65 Album on the {BYSHC} Facebook group for a chance to win a Not2Shabby prize!

Sketch 43 {BYSHC} - Shaker Card (Let it Snow)

Welcome back! Sketch 43 at {BYSHC} is open until the end of the month! Also don't forget that this month's prize will be sponsored by Twiddler's Nook! The winner will either receive a $20 gift card OR a Christmas themed prize pack!

As with the last card, I used the pastel star confetti and pulled out the blue and yellow stars to match the background paper! Background paper (Snowy Winter Greetings), stamp set (Ornamental Greetings) and die (unfortunately not available any longer) for the shaker are all from Unity Stamp Co.  This sketch was screaming "shaker card" to me from the beginning, just needed to make the time to do it! :) Measured according to the sketch, prepared the shaker, added some silver microbeads and the blue and yellow stars and sealed it up! Burlap twine from May Arts Ribbons and some blue enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs to finish it off!

Don't forget to enter before March 31st to be eligible for the Twiddler's Nook prize!

Be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming Spring Into Christmas 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party which will be coming up starting the 19th of April and running through the 26th. Lots of fun, inspiration and prizes!! More details to come!

Back to our regularly scheduled linky party!

Back to regular programing! LOL I have managed to create another card for the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party!

Another amazing sponsor is Angie Blom Digital Designs! I recently purchased this digital kit and completely forgot about it until last night!

The kit is called Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas and contains this adorable Santa along with a bunch of other images! There are three 8 1/2" x 11" images to print and cut to create 4 seperate A2 cards! While I loved the "HO HO HO" background with Santa provided....I had already colored Santa alone by himself and when I printed it I failed to correct the margins so it was off! :p So I typed my own HO HO HO background and used that!  I colored Santa with a combination of generic alcohol markers and Tombow ABT Dual Brush markers. I cut him out and then added some white gel pen to accent. The brick background was created by using up the leftover ink on the blending brush over a brick stencil! Added some foam tape and red enamel dots (Gina Marie Designs) along with some bakers twine (Timeless Twine by BellaCreationz) and some burlap twine to the bow (May Arts Ribbon).

Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party - scraps again!

One more scrap card for the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! Cannot guarantee that there won't be more, I still have a ton of scraps left to use up! :)

I used a larger scrap for this one. I was double sided which was perfect! The red square was also from the same paper kit (win ~ win)!  I think it was My Minds Eye I Believe (circa 2010) but I'm not 100% sure! I also used an older {BYSHC} Sketch (#24) which is included below!

Cut according to the measurements in the sketch. Used the scallops and squares nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. to create the layered squares. The tree is from the 2022 Unity Stamp Co Advent Calendar (psst...the 2023 calendar is about to be released)! The sentiment is also from Unity, a set called ...heart of Christmas. I've said it before and I'll say it again, use up those scraps! I have been starting to actually throw away smaller scraps....it's a freeing experience! :) IYKYK!!

{BYSHC} 2023 Falling for the Holidays Linky Party

Hi and welcome back to the {BYSHC} 2023 Falling for the Holidays Linky Party!

As I said in my previous post, I stamped this guy a few times to get the image and placement I wanted so I have a couple of him laying around....can't waste!! LOL

As I putt around in my crafty space I sometimes get in a mood to just make backgrounds...and put them aside for later. I know you all do the same! I have an entire basket of this kind of stuff!! This image was stamped on a skinny piece of watercolor cardstock, just big enough for a tag! Cut him out in tag shape and colored with Tombow ABT Dual Brush Markers. The background panel is a piece of kraft cardstock and a stamp from Unity Stamp Co. called A Little Christmas Carol which I inked up with vintage photo Distress Oxide. I krinkled the paper a little bit and then distressed the edges with more vintage photo. The sentiment is also from Unity from a kit called ...heart of Christmas. The strips of paper were scraps that were added to a white background and have sat for some time. The ribbon and twine are from my stash.

List of sponsors is posted on the {BYSHC} Blog and also on my day one post!

Have fun this week and be sure to get your projects linked up before midnight on the 27th to be eligible for a prize!

{BYSHC} Falling for the Holidays Linky Party Kick Off!!

To kick everything off, my first card features one of the many sponsors, Unity Stamp Co. The set I've chosen is The Sweetest Snowman! Isn't he just the sweetest!

I went through a couple versions of this, so you may see this guy a couple more times this week as I stamped him out a few times! :) For this one, I stamped him and the sentiment out onto plain white cardstock with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. Used the scallops and squares nesting dies from Unity to cut him out. Colored with my Tombow ABT Dual Brush Markers and added some random script washi tape to a couple spots for interest. The plaid panel is paper from a pad called Cottage Christmas by Fancy Pants Designs. I also cut it with the nesting dies but tore the bottom part off. I felt it needed a little something extra. The white panel was also torn top and bottom and it's from Unity Stamp Co. pack called White Winter. Red with black dots is from Home for Christmas by Carta Bella. Twine from MayArts but purchased from Unity. Red enamel dots from linky party sponsor Gina Marie Designs. Added some foam tape for dimension! Let's get those cards made!!

Cards or projects must be linked up on the blog (link above) before midnight on the 27th to qualify and don't forget to use #fallingfortheholidays2023byshclp on all your entries! All Things Fall!

Every month the Unity Stamp Co. Show & Tell Facebook page sponsors a challenge. It could be a sketch, a theme, a color palette, an idea......could be anything! This month, September, it's All Things Fall. This group of people on this page as well as Unity Stamp Co itself are all amazing and SUPER talented!! It's my go-to place to find inspiration! Sometimes I join in the challenge and sometimes I don't get a chance to. But this month I did get a card completed for this fall challenge!

This idea sort of popped into my head when I saw a scrap of white ribbon that my daughter had discarded laying on the counter! LOL I remembered all the glimmer mist spray bottles I have had in my stash forever and thought I wonder how hard it would be to color that ribbon and make it something else! Well outside I went! After I sprayed the ribbon there was some leftover ink on my mat so I grabbed some watercolor scraps and soaked it all up. But the spray bottles were staring at me to keep going! LOL So I did!

A few of the items I used are from Plain Jane Semi Opaque Matte Mist (Tiger Lily and Fire) and also Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Brick, Tuscan Sun, Sand and Tattered Leather). To be clear these are not new items! They have been around since I started crafting!

These were just scraps of watercolor paper I had laying on top of the scrap pile. Sprayed and sprayed and shook them to move the ink, and dropped some drops....just played around!

The card pictured was created by using some products from Unity Stamp Co. They include a stamp and die combo set called Fall Y'all (Whit Kit 10/21), a edge die (Whit Kit 9/22) and a sentiment stamp from With Appreciation. I cut the shapes from one of the inked pieces using the dies in the kit, stamped with the stamps and then embossed with nuvo embossing powder in gold enchantment. The stitched square is also a Unity die set called scallops and squares. Added some twine, some foam tape and some enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs and it's finished!

A close up of the gold embossing details on the leaves! It's really pretty and fall feeling!

{BYSHC} Christmas in July 2023 Linky Party Kickoff!

Welcome to the first day of the {BYSHC} 2023 Christmas in July Linky Party! So much fun to be had this next week! Starting today, running through the 28th, enjoy lots of posts and inspiration to get some Christmas cards made and ready for December!

Today's card features a new-to-me technique of multiple background stamps and colors! So much fun to create this (and a few others)! The background stamps are from Unity Stamp Co. (which happens to be one of our amazing sponsors)! Started with a white cardstock panel cut to 4.25" x 5.5". Stamped the Linen background stamp using weathered wood distress ink. On top of that I stamped the Santa Express background stamp using a trio of colors (vintage photo and crackling campfire distress oxide and forest moss distress ink). I ink blended around the edges with more vintage photo. Next I took a manilla tag and ink blended more vintage photo over it to darken it up. Stamped the sentiment using straight Vintage Photo. If you look closely the black stick tree is on a clear piece of plastic that I die cut with the scallops and circles nesting die set from Unity Stamp Co. from a piece of wrap that was around a stuffed toy we had purchased! It has a ton of trees all over it! I cut another piece from it and will use that later! ;) Next I added the twine (red/green and natural from Timeless Twine by Bella Creationz, the jute twine from May Arts and the gold thread kreinik metallics blending filament)! I loved the look of a tag tie technique that Sandhya used and tried to recreate it! I love how this turned out!

The sponsor list is so amazing! At the end of the week prizes will be awarded! Enter often for a better chance at a prize!!
