{BYSHC} Falling for the Holidays 2023 Linky Party (scraps edition....part ?)

Welcome to day 3 of the {BYSHC} Falling for the Holidays 2023 Linky Party

As with the last two posts....these next few cards are all created with scraps! I love using up scraps! Makes me feel like I saved them for a reason! :)

This card is similar to the other two in that it's strips of patterned paper glued to a white cardstock base and then die cut (I used the scallops and rectangle nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co.)! The papers are a mix of brands but I love how they coordinate! The sentiment is a stamps and die set combination from Unity Stamp Co. called ....heart of Christmas. I added some enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs and popped the die cut words up with foam tape.

Thanks for visiting! <3

{BYSHC} Falling for the Holidays 2023 Linky Party (Scraps Edition - pt 2)

Welcome once again to the {BYSHC} 2023 Falling for the Holidays Linky Party!

As my title says.....this is another card using up some scraps! I have soooooo many scraps! I never throw stuff away because you just never know! LOL

As with the previous card (link here), I started with a scrap piece of white cardstock to which I added some adhesive. The strips were cut according to the pattern on the paper. Didn't want to cut the popcorn string in half or miss out any good words on the other!  Arranged and stuck down onto the prepared sheet. These are all different brands and paper packs! But I thought they all went together well! I die cut the whole panel with the scallops and squares nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. (*sponsor)! I followed an older {BYSHC} Sketch...#5 (see below). The sentiment was printed and cut from cardstock and the peppermint candy was also printed and die cut! I added some metallic red enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs (*sponsor) and some foam tape for dimension!  Don't be surprised if you see more scrap backgrounds from me this week! I have literally sooooo many!!

{BYSHC} 2023 Falling for the Holidays Linky Party! (Scraps Edition - pt 1)

Hello and welcome back to the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party

This is a shout out to all the paper scraps that have been stored in a box or bin and have been waiting around to shine! GET THOSE SCRAPS OUT AND CREATE! This is your reminder! :)

I know you have some sitting around! I just organized my crafty space and my scraps and discovered I have WAAAAY too many!! I created a bunch of backgrounds....a couple were Christmas. I have a ton more scraps so be on the lookout for more scrap backgrounds!

These scraps are mostly from an older (2010) My Minds Eye kit called I Believe. This is a well loved kit so there are lots of scraps! I started with a scrap piece of white cardstock to which I added some adhesive. I cut the strips of paper according to the pattern on the paper. For example I didn't want to cut the trees in half or cut off the stars, same with the brown strips...wanted to keep the scallops of the design. Arranged them onto the adhesive and then die cut the whole thing with a rectangle die from the scallops and rectangles nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. (*sponsor alert*). The green stitched scallop background was also cut with this die set and was also in the scrap bin! I had cut out a smaller piece from the inside of the panel so this beautiful scalloped piece was not only the perfect green but also waiting for it's second life! The cute little tree and sentiment are also from Unity (small stuff christmas). I die cut the circle and banners as well with some Unity scallops and circles die sets (the banners were part of another kit and are unfortunately not sold in their store). I added some red enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs (*another sponsor) and some foam tape to add dimension! So much fun to find papers that go together and then to find a stamp or image that goes too!

My day one post has a list of the AMAZINGLY generous sponsors!

Please join in the fun and get your cards linked up by midnight on the 27th!

{BYSHC} Falling for the Holidays 2023 Linky Party

Welcome back! The {BYSHC} Falling for the Holidays 2023 Linky Party continues!

Another background that just wasn't the right color green and more reindeer! But I've added another element on top of the floral background.....a grid background stamp!

Started with a white card base then a plain white piece of cardstock was stamped with the Unity Stamp Co. background stamp called Tuscan Tile using Distress ink in Shabby shutters. I then stamped onto it a background called off the grid using distress oxides in antique linen and vintage photo. I die cut that panel along with a piece of brown cardstock using the Sizzix/Tim Holtz dies called Stacked Deckle. The green panel behind was distressed along the edge and then inked to show the distressing. The reindeer were stamped onto white with black and I thought it was a little too stark so I ink blended over them with vintage photo to darken them up a bit. I added some red twine and brads to finish it off.

If we have learned anything.....if it doesn't work right now, save it because it will work for something else! :)

The party link will end on the 27th at midnight!

{BYSHC} Falling for the Holidays 2023 Linky Party!

The {BYSHC} Falling for the Holidays 2023 Linky Party is in full swing!

The link will close on the 27th at Midnight so be sure to get your entries in before then to be eligible for one of the amazing prizes!!

My card came about in two ways....first I was trying to find the right green for a card a friend ordered and unfortunately this was NOT the right green! LOL But since we never throw anything away I turned it into a background. While looking for the right stamp I found ...cheerful prancing which was the perfect "rustic" simple design that could go with a green floral background! It was then that I realized that Unity Stamp Co. also has the digital cut file for this amazing set! So I was off and running!

Started with a white card base, next took a piece of plain white cardstock and stamped the amazing background called Tuscan Tile in fresh asparagus ink from Gina K. I used the scallops and rectangle nesting dies to die cut the large panel and then the rectangle in the center. The reindeer and sentiment as I said are from .....cheerful prancing which I stamped with distress oxide in vintage photo and then embossed with WOW! Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter AFTER I had already die cut them using the digital cut file! The rectangle is popped up with foam tape and its finished! :)

OOOO.....see the shimmer?!?!?

The entire list of sponsors is listed on my first post here.

Have a fun week! I know I will! :)

{BYSHC} 2023 Falling for the Holidays Linky Party

Hi and welcome back to the {BYSHC} 2023 Falling for the Holidays Linky Party!

As I said in my previous post, I stamped this guy a few times to get the image and placement I wanted so I have a couple of him laying around....can't waste!! LOL

As I putt around in my crafty space I sometimes get in a mood to just make backgrounds...and put them aside for later. I know you all do the same! I have an entire basket of this kind of stuff!! This image was stamped on a skinny piece of watercolor cardstock, just big enough for a tag! Cut him out in tag shape and colored with Tombow ABT Dual Brush Markers. The background panel is a piece of kraft cardstock and a stamp from Unity Stamp Co. called A Little Christmas Carol which I inked up with vintage photo Distress Oxide. I krinkled the paper a little bit and then distressed the edges with more vintage photo. The sentiment is also from Unity from a kit called ...heart of Christmas. The strips of paper were scraps that were added to a white background and have sat for some time. The ribbon and twine are from my stash.

List of sponsors is posted on the {BYSHC} Blog and also on my day one post!

Have fun this week and be sure to get your projects linked up before midnight on the 27th to be eligible for a prize!

{BYSHC} Falling for the Holidays Linky Party Kick Off!!

To kick everything off, my first card features one of the many sponsors, Unity Stamp Co. The set I've chosen is The Sweetest Snowman! Isn't he just the sweetest!

I went through a couple versions of this, so you may see this guy a couple more times this week as I stamped him out a few times! :) For this one, I stamped him and the sentiment out onto plain white cardstock with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. Used the scallops and squares nesting dies from Unity to cut him out. Colored with my Tombow ABT Dual Brush Markers and added some random script washi tape to a couple spots for interest. The plaid panel is paper from a pad called Cottage Christmas by Fancy Pants Designs. I also cut it with the nesting dies but tore the bottom part off. I felt it needed a little something extra. The white panel was also torn top and bottom and it's from Unity Stamp Co. pack called White Winter. Red with black dots is from Home for Christmas by Carta Bella. Twine from MayArts but purchased from Unity. Red enamel dots from linky party sponsor Gina Marie Designs. Added some foam tape for dimension! Let's get those cards made!!

Cards or projects must be linked up on the blog (link above) before midnight on the 27th to qualify and don't forget to use #fallingfortheholidays2023byshclp on all your entries!
