One More! - BYSHC 2022 Christmas in July Linky Party

One more card to add to the stash! Just in time for the last couple days of the BYSHC 2022 Christmas in July Linky Party!

My card today features an image and sentiment from one of our sponsors, Angie Blom Digital Designs.  This friendly guy can be found by searching Hey, Santa!

I did end up following Sketch 16 again.....just love that one! Started with a white cardbase. The brick background was created by using a stencil from The Rabbit Hole Designs, called Back Alley. I blended several different distress oxides/inks to get to a color I was happy with. They included Crackling Campfire, Wild Honey, Frayed Burlap and then some Black Soot. The dotted paper is from a kit by My Mind's Eye called Holly Jolly. I printed the image on watercolor paper and that's when the struggle began. This is the third printing and attempt at coloring! I know....the struggle is real my friends! The method that finally worked for me was using the Tombow ABT markers as watercolors by coloring on an acetate sheet, adding water and using a water brush to move the colors around to where I was happy with the saturation! Still not sure I'm 100% satisfied, but I did like this one the best! I then added a few jewels from Pink Fresh Studios.

{BYSHC} 2022 Christmas in July Linky Party - Few Days Left!

My card today was inspired by a post on the Unity Stamp Co. page for this Colossal Snowflake stamp and matching die!  Alaine Tanner, thanks for the inspiration!

If I'm being totally honest....I stamped and die cut the snowflake for a different project, but thought it needed to be used for a card!  Die cut the snowflake, then lined up the stamp (per Whitney Magnuson's instructions) and stamped with versa fine clair (nocturne) and then versa mark embossing ink. I then used some old stamp 'n' bond clear embossing powder. I embossed the white panel with a sizzix embossing folder, mounted on the same red, then on black.  Easy peasy!  The "Merry Christmas" was a leftover piece from printing some digital stamps from Angie Blom Digital Designs!  Both of these amazing companies are sponsor's on this party!

I used a sketch from the {BYSHC} archives....Sketch #10.  Paper is from My Minds Eye called Cozy Christmas.  Colored with Tombow Art Markers, added some Christmas Red Stickles to her hat and some glitter acrylic dots.  The sentiment came from an old paper pack called Christmas Day by Carta Bella.

I have gone back and used an older sketch from Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers  (sketch 7). 

I used a new digital image from Angie Blom called Gifting Girl.  The paper I used is an old Basic Grey collection called Jovial (circa 2010)!  I colored using Tombow Art Markers, added a sentiment (from Unity - Elsa Girl) and some vintage nuvo drops in postbox red.  This again is proof that even though you may not like a colored image for the current project....doesn't mean it's not going to work for another!  This girl was in the scrap or "ehhh" pile! Salved her and made this new card!

I created this little lovely using a digital image from one of our sponsors....Angie Blom Digital Designs. Printed on watercolor paper, and used Tombow Art Markers to color.  I also chose to use a previous sketch from {BYSHC}....number 16.

Somethin' Is Fishy

 This Unity Stamp Co. stamp called Somethin' is Fishy is one of my go-to Father's Day stamps!  It's also great for masculine cards in general!

I stamped the stamp on regular cardstock with Distress Ink in Black soot.  Embossed with clear embossing powder then ink blended over the entire panel with Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo.  The background is a piece of kraft (also from Unity) that was run through the Big Kick with a wood grain embossing folder.  I then ink blended over the raised pattern with more Vintage Photo.  I typed and printed the sentiment from my computer.  Twine and some foam tape to put it all together!

Happy Father's Day!

 Father's Day is next Sunday, so I'm working on some cards!  Tawny Owl Paperie has shared it's first sketch!  It was very easy to follow and worked perfectly for my image!

This image is a digital image from an unknown source!  I have so many older digital images that I don't know where they are from!  I love this one for the golf loving dads!

I printed it on watercolor paper and used Tombow Art Markers to color.  I then cut the image panel using my Unity Stamp Co. Rectangles and Scallops nesting die set.  Distressed the edges with Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo. The patterned paper is from multiple sources but were all scraps!  Printed the sentiment and added some white Nuvo Crystal Drops for accent.
