Holly Jolly!

Started the month with day one of sketch 34 for {BYSHC} and ending the month too! Entries can be posted on the Facebook group until midnight tonight! Today my card features a sweet jolly Santa from Unity Stamp Co. wishing you a Holly Jolly Christmas!

I started with a white card base, followed the sketch (below) for measurements and cut my papers accordingly. The paper is new to me, but older SU Christmas papers. I stamped Santa onto watercolor paper with VersaFine Clair Nocturne and then colored with Tombow ABT Markers. Added some white gel pen to a couple areas and darkened the rim of his glasses. I then added some glossy accents to the lenses. Fussy cut him out and stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white. Die cut with banner nesting dies that came in a monthly kit from Unity.

You still have plenty of time to enter! Sketch below!!

#UnityMembershipMakes

Wednesday's on the Unity Show & Tell Facebook page they share cards and projects created using one or more of the awesome membership kits that Unity offers. This card also happens to qualify for the monthly challenge (wild & wonderful) happening as well!

I started with a panel of watercolor paper and created the yellow blob with another technique that I've done before....cleaning my blending brushes with water and just blending out the ink until it's no more! Lots of backgrounds can be created with this technique! After that I stamped the Unity Stamp Co. May 2023 Background of the month honeycomb chaos over that using vintage photo distress oxide. I then took out a few stamps from the Kit of the Month from May Bloom in Color. The dots were randomly stamped on top with more vintage photo. Die cut the whole thing with Unity's scallops and rectangle nesting die. Onto the focal image....also from the Kit of the Month. I stamped it onto watercolor paper with versafine clair ink in nocturne, colored with my Tombow ABT markers, die cut with the scallops and circles nesting dies and used some foam tape to pop it up. The natural twine and the burlap twine were from my stash. The sentiments are also from the Kit of the month. Stamped the same as the beehive....I hand trimmed the "hey honey" and the "you are the sweetest" was cut using some banner nesting dies which were included in the March 2023 Whit Kit. The clear dew drops were also included in a Whit Kit a few months ago.

Thanks for visiting! Leave me some love! :)

More rainbows and Llamas!!

Hey there friends! I was digging through some stuff in the “not perfect right now but will be later” pile and found this rainbow background I created some time ago and immediately thought “oooh rainbow for Newton’s Nook Inky Paws Challenge!”

Yes it’s the Llama again! But thinking this could be used for either birthday or baby!! I started with a white cardstock panel that I ink blended with rainbow colors. Then I ran it through my big shot to emboss the floral pattern. Die cut with Unity Stamp Co. scallops and rectangles nesting die set and then popped up the center. The llama was already stamped and die cut just needed coloring, which I did with my Tombow ABT markers. I then added some clear sequins that were a free gift from Unity and there ya go!!! Sometimes a background isn’t right until you find the right image or challenge!!

Masculine Cards!

Cardmakers know that masculine cards are not the easiest to come up with. No flowers, or pink, or bling.....but they still need to be made! Friends of Unity's June theme is Masculine cards! The inspiration is amazing! I will add the first stop on the hop below and you can follow along if you'd like! :) My card was also created for the June Challenge at Unity Stamp Co for Wild and Wonderful! Fish are wild in my opinion! Hope they think so too!

I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped the Linen background from Unity Stamp Co. onto it using hickory smoke distress oxide.  I distressed the edges a little with the same hickory smoke and also black soot. I felt it needed a little color so ink smooshed some faded jeans on top. Die cut with a deckle edge die from Tim Holtz. Next I created the tag. Again, stamped (somethin' is fishy) onto white with black soot. I cut it into a tag shape and distressed the whole thing with hickory smoke and faded jeans. I was inspired to add some fishing line behind the tag from one of the ladies on the Friends of Unity hop. I always love how it looks but forget to do that extra step! Added a black background and some blue fluffy fibers to the tag. Sentiment was printed from my computer! Thanks for visiting!

New Month, New Sketch!

Happy June 1st! A new month, means a new sketch at {BYSHC}! This sketch has SOOOO much potential!

My card today features a die and stamp set which I purchased with my gift certificate from Lawn Fawn, which I won during the Spring Into Christmas Linky Party! It's called Ho-Ho-Holidays. While it was somewhat time consuming getting all the pieces cut and stamped and then colored and put together, I do love the end result! Super cute! Papers are all from a pack called Gnome for the Holidays Christmas by Photoplay. Cut according to the measurements. Santa and sleigh were cut from white cardstock, stamped with versafine clair in nocturne and then colored with Tombow ABT markers. Sentiment also from the same set was stamped in a similar way and cut as a banner! I put all the elements together in a cute scene and added some foam tape for dimension. Red enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs for the finish!

Can't wait to see everyone's take on this sketch! Have fun!
