{BYSHC} Sketch 46 - Magic of the Holidays

Hello friends! My last card for the {BYSHC} Sketch 46 was fun to create! The monthly sponsor for June is Lawn Fawn and even though I only have one Lawn Fawn Christmas set, I made 4 different cards!

I love this paper! :) This is a new to me kit from Photo Play called Tulla & Norbert's
Christmas Party! It's so cute! This paper was cut using a edge die from PinkFresh Studios. I wanted to use sleigh, but in a different way than before! So I FILLED it up with gifts! The sentiment goes along with that! The stamps are from the Lawn Fawn set called Ho Ho Holidays and they also have a matching die set. I stamped all the pieces onto white cardstock with versafine clair in nocturne, colored with alcohol markers. Added some foam tape for dimension and some flat clear sequins.

Thanks for playing along with us this month! Keep an eye out for our next sketch and new sponsor!

Inky Paws Challenge #225 - Birthday Shroom

Squeaking one last card in for the Inky Paws Challenge #225! I grabbed a picture earlier, but just getting around to posting!!

This cutie came together quickly! I wasn't sure at first but it's growing on me! Stamp set is Garden Mice. Colored with Tombow ABT markers, fussy cut (not sure why I didn't use the die set, but I didn't!) and attached with foam tape. The yellow cardstock and the floral circle cardstocks are both from Unity Stamp Co. kit country lovin.

Thanks for a great sketch!

{BYSHC} Sketch #46 - Happy Ho Ho Holidays!

Hello and welcome back! My next card for {BYSHC} Sketch 46 was super fun to create! These stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn are so easy to create an entire scene with!

This set it called Ho Ho Holidays and also comes with a matching die set! The paper I used is an older kit that I can't seem to find the name of right off the top of my head. I will add it when I can locate the name of it! I die cut the top (green) panel with a scallop edge die from Pink Fresh Studios. The circles are cut using the scallops and circles nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. Santa and the Mrs. were stamped onto white cardstock with versafine clair in nocturne, then die cut with the matching die set. Colored with alcohol markers. I added a tiny bit of white gel pen for accents and some foam tape for dimension!!

Thanks for visiting! Hope to see you back soon! :)

Inky Paws Challenge #225

Hear me out here.....have you only had a few minutes so you thought I'll just make a quick card or two, destress for a sec! But then you start working on the first card and all heck breaks loose?!? That was this card for me! LOL

Should have been simple and easy! I picked the paper, I picked the stamps and sentiment....BAMM! Let me start at the beginning! LOL Following the sketch (shown below), I decided to use the retired Peony Blooms from Newton's Nook Designs for the current Inky Paws Challenge. Thought the peonies would be cute as the circles on the sketch! Stamped them onto white cardstock with versafine clair in nocturne, colored with my Tombow ABT markers and then fussy cut them out. The white panel in the middle was embossed with a quilted die. I added it to the center of the panel, die cut the entire thing with the largest die from the scallops and rectangles nesting die set from Unity Stamp Co. Tied on some white bakers twine and added the vellum circles and the flowers (popped up with foam tape). This is where it went all downhill! The sentiment was going to be stamped onto the plaid panel, but alas the universe was against me! LOL The "happy" was salvageable but when I went to stamp the "birthday" not only was it not stamped completely, there was ink on the block that ran right across the smaller flower! :/

So after taking several deep breaths, I tore it apart. Saving what I could and pitching what I could not. I did try to stamp the sentiment onto the plaid panel again, and again it wasn't coming out clear enough! So fussy cutting it is! Never give up! It will be ok and turn out fine in the end! Just keep swimming! LOL

Sketch for reference!

I did stamp out a few more stamps to make a second card, but after this one was such a problem I had to walk away! LOL Maybe later tonight (and a glass of wine) I can try the second card! Thanks for visiting and don't let the universe get you down! :)

Two Challenges in ONE!

I love when I am able to combine two "challenges" into one card! More bang for the buck! :) Today is Wednesday, which means it's Unity Membership Makes Day!

Today I followed the sketch challenge at Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration #22. As I was going through some scraps the other day I remembered all the cute sketches to use up some of these! Sketch is below, but I stamped the cupcake from the Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month from January 2023 {bloom and evolve} and colored in with Tombow ABT markers. I added some Uni-ball white gel pen to accent. Happy Birthday is also from a Unity set called gotta love sentiments. Some pink Gina Marie Designs enamel dots to finish!

Thanks for visiting! More to come!

{BYSHC} Sketch 46! - It's Santa!

Hello there and welcome! {BYSHC} the Sketch 46 challenge is half way complete! As it was announced at the beginning of the year, each month's challenge prize will be brought to you by one of our amazing sponsors! This month it happens to be Lawn Fawn! Entries must be entered into the Sketch 46 Album in the {BYSHC} Facebook group!

Ever have one of those "ah-ha" moments and then try to recreate on paper what you thought in your head?!? That's what happened here! I had the brilliant idea to create a rooftop using scalloped paper! :/ except that my scallop wasn't very big so it took way more layers than I expected! LOL However, this super cute card took shape and turned out super cute!

So as I said, I started with a white card base and to that I added layer upon layer of different brown papers punched with a scalloped edge punch! The bottom is pretty thick, but looks cool!! The santa and sleigh and all the presents and bags are from the Lawn Fawn kit called Ho-Ho-Holidays and the matching die set! The blue paper is from a pad from PhotoPlay called It's a Wonderful Christmas. I thought it looked like the night sky! I added some fuzzy fibers to resemble snow to the roof top. The chimney was fabricated from a scrap piece of brown and  a black marker! LOL I added a die cut moon and some star sequins to complete the night sky! The sentiment was stamped and fussy cut prior to attaching it to the roof!

Below is the sketch for reference! Lawn Fawn is generously giving a $25 gift certificate to the winner of this month's challenge!

Unity Membership Makes - Note of Thanks

Well I managed to make another card for Unity Membership Makes!

I had stamped the typewriter a couple times last week...I made one last week with it for Father's Day. So I grabbed this image (which is from the June 2023 Kit of the Month {from the countryside}) that was basically ready to go and colored in a few sections for accent. The sentiment is typed from my computer in a typewriter type font. Because I had this already stamped and ready, I stamped the top of this onto the printed sentiment, then fussy cut just the piece of paper. I tried to channel my inner Tenia (Unity DT Member) with the washi and staples! LOL The striped panel was die cut using the scalloped and rectangle nesting die set from Unity. I added some washi tape to that. The lined notebook paper is just that...lined notebook paper ripped right from a spiral bound notebook! Die cut that with the make a tag die set. I added a mini paperclip and some black enamel dots and viola! Finished!

I tend to use a lot of pieces that are basically left of my desk for inspiration! LOL It's right there in front of me!

Unity Membership Makes Wednesday - True Love

I love to get some quiet time in my crafty space to create! My mind just goes crazy with all the goodness that's here! Today is Wednesday which means it's Unity Membership Makes day! A day to pull out all the Unity Stamp Co. membership kits and make something amazing!

I was trying to think of what kind of cards I don't have a lot of.....wedding cards! I always seem to be making something last minute for a wedding! So today's card (hopefully there will be more) was planned as a wedding card, but could be so many other things!

I started with the stamping! I chose these sweet birds (from the February 2023 {happy soul} Kit of the Month) because they looked like they were in love! I stamped the using Versafine Clair in Nocturne onto a piece of patterned paper from Unity (Golden Marble Paper Pack). I die cut that piece using one of the scalloped and arches nesting die set. I used the same die to cut a piece of colored cardstock that matched the pinky purple in the background patterned paper. I used the largest scalloped and rectangle nesting die to cut the patterned paper from the Vintage Volumes paper pack (February 2024 Whit Kit). The sentiment came from another Kit of the Month....June 2023 {from the countryside} I stamped it onto black cardstock using versamark watermark ink and white embossing powder. I fussy cut it out to just have the words! I distressed the two arched panels with vintage photo and black soot, positioned them together to just have a corner of the colored cardstock showing. I then tied some natural bakers twine around the top...added some colored pearls and attached the sentiment with foam tape!

This card went through many different versions before I landed on this one! Sometimes it takes a few minutes to move things around, position them in different ways, different colored background papers, etc to get it just right! Don't rush!

Unity Membership Makes Wednesday - Father's Day Edition!

I am on a Father's Day card making kick today! Perfect that it's Unity Membership Makes Day! Each Wednesday Unity Show & Tell FB page showcases all of the Unity Stamp Company's membership kits! Today's card uses two of the past kits!

I had a partially completed background panel that I added a Background of the Month stamp called ....linen using vintage photo, then added another background stamp called small details using first salvaged patina, then broken china...too light so I added faded jeans! You can see the many layers of words on this! Love it! The typewriter is from the June 2023 Kit of the Month called {from the countryside}. After it was dry I die cut it using a Tim Holtz nesting die set called stacked deckle.

The "paper" is a blank space in the stamp so I typed the word dad on my computer in a "typewriter" type font. Lined it up in my MISTI and stamped the typewriter with VersaFine Clair in nocturne. I then fussy cut the typewriter. I added some tombow brush markers to give it some detail and shadow. The sentiment was also typed on the computer with the same font as the top. After cutting the strip, I tore the ends. I added some vintage photo distressing around the outside edges of the background and also all over the sentiment. May arts ribbon burlap twine and enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs finish it off!

Welcome to June and Sketch 46!

Wow! We are already in June! How did that happen!?!? Well here in Florida its difficult to think about winter and Christmas when the temp is 100 outside!! But at BYSHC it's always Christmas!

This month's sponsor is Lawn Fawn! I have been trying to use the sponsored product on the sponsored month! This cute Santa scene is all from the kit called Ho-Ho-Holidays and the matching die set. I stamped and cut out all the pieces, then colored. I used some alcohol markers and a white gel pen. The paper is from a recently acquired pad ffrom PhotoPlay called It's a Wonderful Christmas. The blue looked like the night sky to me! Santa is backed with a circle of vellum. The sentiment was stamped with versamark embossing ink and then embossed with gina k designs white embossing powder. The circle and banner were cut using dies from Unity Stamp Co.

Have your entries posted on the BYSHC Facebook page before the end of the month for your chance to win a Lawn Fawn $25 Gift Certificate!!!
