Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Peace on Earth

Sneaking in one (maybe two) before the midnight deadline! Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party has 3-ish hours left! LOL

Definitely not a good picture of this cutie at all! It's 9pm and the sun is gone! :) Taken by the light of my craft room!

pulled papers literally from the scrap bag (picture below)!! The reindeer I had already stamped and die cut for another project that didn't get used. Grabbed a sketch from {BYSHC} #33 and cut to size! I added some twine and some white enamel dots to make it fun!!

Use what you have! I talk myself out of paper all the time! LOL I have so much and the scraps can create all by themselves! I've proven that this week!! I have so many more that I am sure I'll never get through them all! It's so fun!!

Thanks for joining us this week! I hope you enjoyed all the inspiration and good luck and I hope the "random.org" Gods are forever in your favor! :)

Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Christmas Joy

Didn't expect to get another one in, but I did! Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party ends at midnight.

The only thing on this card that's "new" and not from the scrap bin is the die cut tag! It was a regular panel, but I cut it into a tag!

The snowflake panel didn't stamp perfectly the first time so it went in the scrap bin and has now gained new life!! I grabbed a sketch that matched the size and shape of the image. Sketch 33 fit the bill! I love being able to go through my scraps and see what I can come up with! It's like a treasure hunt! My desk is an absolute mess, but wow....what a fun week!!  The snowflake background, the scalloped and rectangle die set, the tag die and the sentiment strips are all from Unity! Enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs and ribbon from stash!

Don't forget to get your cards in before midnight!

Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Merry Christmas

We've made it to the very last day of the Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party! Don't be sad...you still have time to submit any and all entries before midnight tonight!

Another quilted scrappy background card! I had no idea when I made the first one, the response I would get! I'm so blown away by the comments and other versions! It's so fun!!

Another piece from the "later" box is this vellum sheet with the Farm Fresh Girl from Unity Stamp Co. After I had pieced all the background together, I die cut it with the largest scalloped and rectangle nesting die....also from Unity. So I had this vellum piece with the girl stamped and embossed just sitting here. I remembered seeing a video of a card using vellum just like this so I had to find it! The YouTube video by Heather Hoffman is here!

I followed her instruction and stamped and fussy cut the girl out of white cardstock and attached it as she instructed. I didn't sew like she did, but after I glued the top on, I added a thick piece of ribbon to cover the glue mark!

LOVE THIS!! Thanks Heather for an amazing tutorial!!

Don't forget submit before midnight!

{BYSHC} Sketch 47 - Fa la la la

Hello and welcome back! Today's card features a cute penguin from our monthly sponsor Taylored Expressions!

This cute guy is from a set called Fluffy Friends Holiday! There is a matching die set (which I do not own) but I fussy cut all of the images out! Papers are from PhotoPlay Tulla & Norbert's Christmas Party! I absolutely love this pack!! Enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs...sentiment cut from a sentiment strip sheet from Unity Stamp!

Today also marks the last day of the Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party! Be sure any and all entries are posted before midnight!

Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Non-Traditional Colors

This card is a little unusual! I searched in Pinterest for "non-traditional Christmas colors" and this combo popped up! Love Love LOVE!! The Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party is close to setting a record for entries! Be sure yours is entered before midnight on Friday!

As with another post from earlier this week, I am entering this into another challenge blog as well as this one! The Hero Arts Blog has their current challenge going called "color my world!" To me that means lots of colors! Vibrant, crisp, distinct!

This one came about with a lot of indecision on my part! Let me start at the beginning. I started off with a white panel of cardstock. I taped down a Hero Arts stencil from the Flower Swirls stencil pack. I started in the center with scattered straw, next I went to the edges with old paper. The middle is two different pinks, worn lipstick and spun sugar. As I said above I searched for "non-traditional CHRISTMAS colors" so when I finished with this I struggled to create a Christmas card. But I was determined, so I cut the panel in half and will use the other half for likely a birthday card! After I ink blended, I took some white acrylic paint thinned down and splattered it on. Then I added some distress mica spray in tarnished brass to an acrylic block and splattered that on as well. It's super sparkly! Since it shimmers so much, I found a piece of gold cardstock that I used as the base. Distressed the edges a bit and glued it on. Here is where the indecision came in......white or black "merry?" I cut both, put them both on and still couldn't decide. So I took the negative of the white and stuck the black die cut inside and it solved that! I used the die as a template for the outside. I drew around it with a pencil and then fussy cut it out! :) I stamped the "& bright" onto the gold and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I added some gems from PinkFresh Studio and it's perfect! :)

see how pretty it is!?!?

Thanks for visiting!!

{BYSHC} Christmas in July 2024 Linky Party - Silent Night

Hello and welcome back! Today's card for the {BYSHC} Christmas in July 2024 Linky Party is another digital image from RAM Stamps!

I have again chosen the Nativity Scene Builder from RAM Stamps!

This sweet set has the essential nativity participants! Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, angels, wise men, farm animals and of course a manger and stable! As I stated previously I just was enlightened that digital stamps are meant to be manipulated to create a scene and change sizes!!

After resizing and positioning the items on my screen as I wanted, I printed this onto white 60# cardstock and die cut using the largest scallop and rectangle nesting die from Unity Stamp Co. I then distressed the edges with a little vintage photo ink blending. The angel and blessed family were printed separately and fussy cut. All were colored with Tombow brush markers and some white gel pen. I attached the angel and blessed family using some foam adhesive.

Somewhat simple but still just as meaningful!

Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you soon!

Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Merry & Bright

Happy Wednesday! The Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party is still going! Friday at midnight is your deadline! Today's card combines two challenges!

The second challenge I'm talking about is at Hero Arts! Their challenge is called "color my world." I take that to mean lots of vibrant colors!!

I've taken their Flower Swirls Stencils, and the Merry Stamp & Cut to create this colorful card! The inks I used over the stencil are lumberjack plaid and twisted citron. After I removed the stencil I splattered some water on it to create a little distressing. The panel was then die cut with the largest scalloped and rectangle die from Unity Stamp Co. I then moved onto the sentiment. I die cut the "merry" from a scrap of white cardstock. Then stamped on the top and bottom part of the sentiment using WOW! Embossing ink and Gina K Designs white embossing powder. That black panel was then die cut with the scalloped and banner die set from Unity. Glued everything together then used some foam adhesive from therm-0-web to attach it to the background. Some green and red glitter enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs to finish it off!

Thanks for visiting!! Keep up the great work on these submissions! We are approaching a record number of entries!!

{BYSHC} Christmas in July 2024 Linky Party - Snowman

Getting to the end of the party, but I'm still using scraps! Be sure to get your entries posted to the {BYSHC} Blog before midnight Friday to be eligible for the amazing prizes!

My next card is another "quilted" scrap card. This time I chose some blues and a little pop of red!

The image is from one of our sponsors, Not 2 Shabby. It's called Let it Snow! I die cut the scrap panel and the snowman image using the scallops and rectangles nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. I cut the edges of the snowman panel to create a tag. I colored with my Tombow dual brush markers. I added some jute twine and some blue fluffy fibers to the top of the tag. Some foam tape and blue enamel dots to finish!

{BYSHC} Christmas in July 2024 Linky Party - Cup of Cheer

Hello again! I have another card using up some scraps with an image from another sponsor! {BYSHC} have an amazing list of sponsors who will be providing prizes at the end of the party! Be sure to check the blog for the entire list!

Not 2 Shabby is the sponsor for this one! The digital image is called Have a Cup of Cheer

The red panel had been dry embossed (quite a while ago) with a 3d embossing folder from Stampin Up. I die cut the red and focal panel using the scallops and rectangles nesting dies from Unity Stamp Co. I colored the image with alcohol markers and then punched a few snowflakes from another scrap of cardstock! to the snowflakes I added some blue glitter enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs.

Thanks for visiting!

Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party - O Holy Night

Hello again and thanks for visiting! The Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party is in full swing!

I like to use the linky party to go through my scrap bin and use up as many scraps as I can! It's so fun to see what I've got left and what combinations I can come up with!

This card background is similar to one I shared previously, but this time (mostly because I forgot what I was doing ;) I placed the 1/2" strips on the diagonal first, then cut, then placed them straight across...basically reverse order! I'll link the post here where I talked about it the first time...with some instructions!

Most of these papers are from a Unity Stamp Co. paper pack called snowy winter greetings...it's one of my favorites! After all the strips were stuck down, I ran it through the die cut machine using the largest scalloped and rectangle nesting die. Not only does it make the edge nice, it also applies extra pressure to the scrap pieces to make sure everything is adhered well. The sentiment is also from Unity Stamp Co., an itty bitty called brightly shining. I die cut both circles using the scalloped and circle nesting die set. The yellow ink blending on the inside was a technique shared by Unity Design Team Member Lisa Arana...the blog post is here! Next I added some sheer ribbon and some white enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs to finish it off.

Don't forget to have your entries posted to the {BUSHC} Blog before the link closes on the 26th!

{BYSHC} Christmas in July 2024 Linky Party - Peace on Earth

the Christmas in July {BYSHC} 2024 Linky Party is a great chance to build your stash of holiday cards so when December rolls around, there is no "panic" cardmaking at 1am! Believe me....I've done it! :)

The list of sponsors for this amazing party are listed on the {BYSHC} Blog post and are INCREDIBLE! Today I am featuring a couple of them....one is RAM Stamps! This scene is from the set called Nativity Scene Creator.

This sweet little scene was printed onto regular white 60# cardstock and die cut using the scallops and arches nesting die set from Unity Stamp Co. The manger and people were colored with alcohol markers and some white gel pen. I masked both the manger and people and then ink blended over the mask to create the background. I used a sketch #29 from {BYSHC} to create the cardbase.

I have been using digital stamps for some time now....not forever, but not super recent either. Thank you to Crystal and all the others who informed me, after I asked, that digital stamps can be manipulated on several types of apps! I am finding an entirely new love of digital stamps now that I can move them around and resize them as I like! **GAME CHANGER**

So glad that I now have this knowledge, it will make creating with digital stamps that much more fun!!

Be sure to have your entries added before midnight on the 26th to be eligible for some amazing prizes!

Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Bring on the Merry!

Scrap pile, I hope, is getting smaller! But I keep finding new "piles!" :/ Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party is a great time to utilize all those scraps that you've been holding onto for way too long!

I chose a sketch way back from the archives of {BYSHC}! Sketch 11 is shown below for reference! The paper is NOT from the same kit, probably not even the same manufacturer, but nonetheless they work beautifully together! Don't be afraid to mix up different manufacturers!

I chose to use a Newton's Nook Designs stamp and die set called Christmas Trimmings, which I am sorry to say that I just found out it is retired! Luckily they have LOTS of Christmas themed sets with matching dies still in their inventory! You can see some Christmas sets here! I stamped this lovely lady and some extras onto white 110# cardstock. Die cut everything and then colored to losely match the papers I chose. I then added some foam tape, some other die cuts for the banner and circle (both from Unity Stamp Co.) and some enamel dots for some accent!

Thanks for visiting!

{BYSHC} Christmas in July 2024 Linky Party - Peace ~ Love ~ Joy

Welcome back! The {BYSHC} Christmas in July 2024 Linky Party is a great chance for me to use up some scraps and build my stash of holiday cards to keep December stress free!

More scraps were used on this one! These scraps are mostly from a Stampin Up pack, that I have no idea the name! :)

Unity Stamp Co. was used a lot on this one! I cut the 1/2" strips of paper, adhered them together, then cut 1/2" strips to be laid on the diagonal to create this really beautiful background! I shared in a post earlier in the week that the technique came from a video I watched (but apparently did not save)! I love this technique! Maybe I will create my own video someday! :) The paper-pieced panel and the kraft background panel were die cut using the two largest scalloped and rectangle nesting dies. Definitely my MOST used nesting dies! The stamp set used for the tag (which was created using a piece of white paper, cut into a tag shape) is called Winter Cheer and Deer. The deer and the distress wording background are all one stamp! The words are also in the set and were stamped using lumberjack plaid and then cut out. Red enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs along with some black twine and fibers from my stash to finish it off. Mounted the tag using some foam adhesive from Therm-O-Web!

Be sure to give a look at the blog to find the list of sponsors who will be graciously providing the prizes for this linky party! Three of which I used on this card!!

Also entering this card into The Color Hues Challenge for July! #91 - Red and Green!

Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party - Joy to the World

Another card for the Christmas in July 2024 {BYSHC} Linky Party! And using up of more scraps!

Using up more scraps and images that had been stamped previously and not used! That's where this snowflake heart was found! I found some matching papers and found inspiration on the Unity Stamp Co. website on the listing for this beautiful stamp, called Heart of Christmas (thank you Lisa Arana)!

The background paper was cut with the largest scalloped and rectangle nesting die. The The other two pieces were cut multiple times with these dies that had to be moved around to get the stitched or scalloped edge! You do what you have to do! :) White twine, red enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs and a cut apart sentiment strip from Unity Stamp Co.

Also entering this one into The Color Hues Challenge this month! #91 - Red and Green! Check and Check!! ;)
